In this article, we will explain to you what is the Asian Handicap, how to use it and how to exploit Asian Handicap to make a profit from sports betting.

What is Asian Handicap?

Asian Handicap Definition: Asian Handicap aka AH is one of the most exciting forms of betting markets. The biggest and most significant thing about Asian Handicap is the fact that it is a 2-way market and there is no draw. This might seem a bit complicated at first, but once you fully understand all the rules of Asian Handicap, you will see that this is the most interesting was of sports betting you will see.

Asian Handicap originates from Asia (hence the name), but very fast it became popular all over the world.

Types of Asian Handicap

Asian Handicap is similar in some part to spread betting, and if you have some knowledge in spread betting, you will have no problems understanding the basic rules of Asian Handicap betting market.

Nevertheless, to understand Asian Handicap in full, we will explain every single line.

Asian Handicap 0 (AH0) – this Asian Handicap line is also known as Draw No Bet line (DNB). If you placed your bet on the home team, your bet is won if the home team wins the game. If the game ends in a draw, you will get your stake back (Draw No Bet), and if away team wins you will lose your bet.

Asian Handicap -0.25 (-0.25AH) – now things get a bit complicated. When you play this AH, you actually play two bets (AH0 with half stake and -0.5AH with half stake).

Example:

You played on a home team with -0.25AH. Odds are 2.00 and stake is 100 Euro. If the home team wins, you will win your bet in full, and you will get 200 Euro (100 Euro of profit and 100 Euro your stake). If the game ends in a draw, you lose half of your stake, and half of your stake you get back. So if the game ends in a draw, you will lose 50 Euro. If the home team lose the game, you will lose entire stake (100 Euro).

Asian Handicap +0.25 (+0.25AH) – when you play this line you are on the opposite side of the -0.25 line. Again, you actually placed two bets (AH0 with half stake and +0.5AH with half stake).

Example:

You played on a home team with +0.25AH. Odds are 2.00 and stake is 100 Euro. If the home team wins, you will win your bet in full, and you will get 200 Euro (100 Euro of profit and 100 Euro your stake). If the game ends in a draw, half of your stake you get back and half of your stake is multiplied with odds 2.00, and you will win 150 Euro (50 Euro of profit + 100 Euro initial stake). If the home team lose the game, you will lose entire stake (100 Euro).

Asian Handicap -0.5 (-0.5AH) – Easiest line to understand. If your team wins you won the bet and if the game ends in a draw or your team lost the game, you lose your bet.

Asian Handicap +0.5 (+0.5AH) – If your team wins or the game ends in a draw, your bet is won. If your team lose the game, your bet is lost. This bet is the same as a double chance bet.

Asian Handicap -0.75 (-0.75AH) – again a bit complicated line. Again you will place two bets, half stake on Asian line -0.5 and a half stake on Asian line -1.

Example:

You played on a home team with -0.75AH. Odds are 2.00 and stake is 100 Euro. If the home team wins by one goal margin, you will win half of your bet, and you will get 150 Euro (50 Euro of profit and 100 Euro your stake). If the game ends in a draw, or your team lose the game, you lost the bet in full. You need a home team to win by 2 or more goals to win this bet in full.

Asian Handicap +0.75 (+0.75AH) – opposite line from -0.75 line.

Example:

You played on a home team with +0.75AH. Odds are 2.00 and stake is 100 Euro. If the home team wins or the game ends in a draw you will win your bet in full. If home team lose by one goal margin half of your stake, you get back and half of your stake is multiplied with odds 2.00, and you will win 150 Euro (50 Euro of profit + 100 Euro initial stake). If the home team lose the game by 2 goals or more, you will lose entire stake (100 Euro).

Asian Handicap -1 (-1AH) – easy line to understand. Your team needs to win by 2 goals or more in order to win this bet. If the home team wins with one goal margin, you will get your stake back. If the game ends in a draw or your team lose the game, you will lose your stake.

Asian Handicap +1 (+1AH) – If your team lose the game with more than one goal margin, you will lose your stake. If your team lose with one goal margin you will get your stake back and if the game ends in a draw or your team wins the game, your bet is won.
